About Sadie:

Sadie comes from an OU family and grew up in Norman where she was surrounded by campus life. She attended OU where she graduated in 2020 with a BA in Letters and an additional major in Music (Cello). Sadie joined UC Advising in March 2021. She has previously worked with Second Wind Coffeehouse, a nonprofit organization on Campus Corner that provides coffee and outreach to the OU and greater Norman community. Sadie loves any hobby related to music and books. She also loves Jeopardy! and can periodically be found answering trivia with her colleagues in the UC advising suite.

What do you like most about working with new students?

There’s no blueprint for a first-year student – all of them come to OU with their own unique stories, dreams, and doubts. To get a glimpse into their lives, hear about their experiences and interests, and help them towards succeeding at OU is such a privilege!

What advice would you give to OU first year students?

If you have a question or need to ask for clarification, chances are that many other students are thinking the same thing, so don’t be afraid to ask! Professors appreciate questions and curiosity more than you’d think.

What is your favorite place on campus?

A personal favorite has always been the walkway between the Fred Jones, Jr. Art Museum and the Reynolds Performing Arts Center. You can get a live look at music students hard at work in the practice rooms or simply sit in the shade at the picnic tables. I also love to observe the Dreamer statue and ponder what he could be dreaming about!
