About Joey:

I live in Norman with my partner and our two cats, Yuki and Noodle :). I graduated high school in Stillwater (boo), but I like to think I've balanced that out through my other experiences. I lived in Paris for six months, I'm fluent in French, I speak a little Italian and Spanish, and I've been to 15 countries on three continents. In my free time, I love to paint, sing, do puzzles, play video games, and go thrifting. Every experience is a learning experience!!

What do you like most about working with new students?

I love getting to help students explore their interests and passions! Advising undecided students with super diverse interests is one of my favorite parts of my job. I love helping students tailor their class schedules and degrees so that they're able to get exactly what they want out of their college academic experience. It brings me a lot of joy to hear students say that they're excited for their classes after they've been advised.

What advice would you give to OU first year students?

Be curious and keep an open mind!!! Try new things, ask questions, and have fun exploring, both in terms of your surroundings and your sense of self!

What is your favorite spot on campus?

My office!!! (My favorite near-campus spot is Second Wind Coffeehouse on Campus Corner)
