OU Awarded Prestigious Davis Cup

OU is recognized for record-setting enrollment of 45 United World College international freshmen.

Representatives of the Davis United World College Scholars Program will visit the University of Oklahoma to present the Davis Cup at a ceremony scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27.

OU is the first public university in the nation to be awarded the prestigious Davis Cup in recognition of its record-setting enrollment of 45 United World College international freshmen.

Speakers at the event will include OU President David L. Boren; Dr. Phil Geier, executive director of the Davis United World College Scholars Program; Shelby Davis, founder of the Davis United World College Scholars Program; and Eaton Baptiste, president of OU’s United World College Scholars student organization.

Members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held in Beaird Lounge, on the second floor of Oklahoma Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave.

Members of the media may park in the Union Parking Center. Please bring your parking garage ticket to a Public Affairs staff member to receive parking validation.
