#SoonerWknd: Art Walk, Spring Game, Cody's Run

We're sure you're resting up for the BIG EVENT this Saturday, but be sure to squeeze in these weekend activities, too.

April 9-12

Norman 2nd Friday Art Walk

The monthly event that has us all shouting “YASSSS” is back to deliver a night of Norman culture, great deals and refreshments. This Friday's Art Walk starts at 6 p.m. in downtown Norman. Hit up your favorite local shops like Bigfoot Creative and Stash. This month’s walk features performances by Annie Oakley, Foxburrows and Chase Kerby & The Company Men.

2nd Friday Art Walk

American Sniper

Meacham will feature yet another Oscar contender free of charge thanks to our ever-cool crew behind Film Series. American Sniper shows at 6 p.m., 9 p.m. and midnight Friday in the Union’s Meacham Theatre. The intense drama is sure to have you on the edge of your seat!

Sound Lounge

The live music scene here on campus is even better when you have the chance to listen and support your fellow Sooners! UPB’s Sound Lounge is back at 8 p.m. Friday in the Union’s Beaird Lounge and features artists from campus and the Norman community. Come out and rock out! See the calendar for more info.

Spring Game

Treat yourself to a taste of next fall’s football season. The annual Spring Game showcases the Sooners scrimmaging Crimson vs. Cream at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Festivities surrounding the event include live music, food trucks and carnival rides. For more information on Spring Game activities and tickets, visit here. Can't make the game? No worries! FOX Sports will broadcast the game and a Spanish broadcast will be available through OKC's and Tulsa's Telemundo affiliates.

Cody’s Run

While the Big Event pumps you up for community involvement, stay in the spirit and turn out for the 3rd annual Cody’s Run at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at 1524 Asp Ave. near the dorms. The 5k celebrates the life of well known and loved campus figure Cody Ponder. Proceeds from the event go to support an emergency endowment fund for cancer patients at the Stephenson Cancer Center. Show up early to register the day of the event or register here ahead of time to avoid a line.
