OU Board of Regents to Meet in Oklahoma City

The appointment of members to the Graduate College Dean Search Committee is among topics to be discussed by the OU Board of Regents at its regular meeting Wednesday, March 8, in Oklahoma City.

NORMAN – The appointment of members to the Graduate College Dean Search Committee as well as selection of the recipients of the 2017 Regents’ Award for Superior Staff are among topics to be discussed by the OU Board of Regents at its regular meeting Wednesday, March 8, in Oklahoma City.

The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the auditorium of Robert M. Bird Library at the OU Health Sciences Center with items submitted by Cameron University considered first, followed by those submitted by Rogers State University and then those submitted by OU.

In order to begin a national advertised search for the next dean of the Graduate College, the board will consider a recommendation to approve the appointment of search committee members as outlined. Regents’ policy regarding search committees for deans provides that the committee have faculty, student and staff representation.

The OU board also will consider nominations for the 2017 Regents’ Award for Superior Staff, which was developed to recognize the outstanding contributions made by OU staff members whose job performance, service activities and dedication have enhanced the mission of the university. Two awards are given annually during spring staff recognition activities: one to a Norman campus staff member and one to a Health Sciences Center staff member.

The next regular meeting of the OU Board of Regents is currently scheduled for May 11 and 12 in Norman.
