Inauguration Set for OU's 14th President

Join the OU community for the inauguration of James L. Gallogly at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Lloyd Noble Center.

NORMAN - The  OU Board of Regents is pleased to announce the inauguration of James L. Gallogly as the university’s 14th president at 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Lloyd Noble Center, 2900 S. Jenkins, Norman. The entire OU community and the public are invited to attend this historic event.

The event will be held in conjunction with New Sooner Convocation, the official welcoming event for incoming OU students and their families.

“We are honored to install Jim as OU’s fourteenth president. He is a transformative leader who is already making a great impact on the future of the university and its students,” said Clayton I. Bennett, chairman of the OU Board of Regents.  

A 1977 alumnus of the OU College of Law, Gallogly’s distinguished career is noted for his leadership of large, complex organizations while championing his teams to achieve results. He and his wife, Janet, have a history of supporting education and scholarly initiatives. As a leader, he is known for his personal mentorship of students and young professionals.

Gallogly officially took office as OU president on July 1, 2018.
