OU Earns High Marks for Online Programs from U.S. News & World Report

Multiple online degree programs at the University of Oklahoma have once again been selected as the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. “At OU, we take great pride in the success of our online programs, and it is incredibly rewarding to earn national recognition,” said OU President Joseph Harroz Jr.

In its analysis of higher education options for nontraditional learners, U.S. News ranked OU No. 10 in the category of best online bachelor’s programs for veterans and in the listing for best online master’s in criminal justice programs for veterans. The university also ranked No. 11 in best online master’s in criminal justice programs overall.

In addition, out of more than 350 programs nationwide, OU ranked No. 16 in the overall category of best online bachelor’s programs.

The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing saw the biggest rise in rankings, moving up 34 spots from 2021. The college ranked No. 29 in the listing for best online master’s in nursing programs for 2022.

Additional online degree programs offered by OU earned impressive placements in the U.S. News rankings:

  • No. 20 Best Online Master’s in Education Programs (Education Administration and Supervision)
  • No. 31 Best Online Master’s in Business Programs for Veterans (non-MBA)
  • No. 54 Best Online Master’s in Information Technology Programs
  • No. 67 Best Online Master’s in Business Programs (non-MBA)

U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in education rankings, evaluated more than 1,700 online degree programs to create the rankings list – an all-time high. The assessment measured overall academic quality and evaluated varying disciplines, such as business and criminal justice.

Also included in the rankings were the top programs for military veterans and active-duty services members, which credits strong academic programs for enrolling veterans and making available numerous financial benefits linked to federal programs.
