OU to Celebrate the Class of 2022

OU to Celebrate the Class of 2022

April 19, 2022

UPDATE: Commencement will be held at the Lloyd Noble Center. Ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. The University of Oklahoma will honor the achievements of the Class of 2022 in a university-wide Commencement ceremony, followed by 22 individual college convocation ceremonies.

All Class of 2022 graduation candidates and their guests are invited to attend the Commencement ceremony at 7 p.m., Friday, May 13, at The Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. Pageantry and tradition will be prominently displayed throughout the ceremony, which serves as a time for graduates to celebrate the culmination of their OU experience.

Bestselling author and New York Times columnist David Brooks will serve as OU’s 2022 Commencement speaker, and the university will present honorary degrees to five outstanding individuals. OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. will officially confer degrees, and doctoral degree candidates will be recognized individually.

In addition to the Commencement ceremony, each degree-granting college at OU will also host a convocation ceremony where all other graduates will be individually recognized, have their pictures taken and their diploma covers presented by their deans. Locations and times have been assigned to each college, and all ceremonies will be livestreamed. Some events require tickets and for graduates to arrive by a specified time. Additional information is available at ou.edu/commencement.

To enjoy the complete graduation experience, graduates are strongly encouraged to attend both the Commencement ceremony and their college convocation ceremony.
