Program Description

The Percussion Area in the OU School of Music is one of the most highly acclaimed percussion programs in the United States. Recognized for excellence in pedagogy, performance, recording, commissioning and publishing, the program allows students to study with some of the best faculty in the field. Student musicians also enjoy access to the largest inventory of percussion instruments in Oklahoma, including an extended range of marimbas and the state's only collegiate steel drum band. Catlett Music Center's exceptional Percussion suite includes large rehearsal studios, MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) and recording facilities and practice rooms exclusively for Percussion students.

In addition to general university admission requirements, Percussion students must pass an instrumental audition before enrolling in the School of Music.
