When I was a student, one of my ultimate goals was to get involved with various organizations on campus- whether that was a club or an on-campus job. I ended up working for the Admissions Office as I was completing my Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies and I absolutely loved it! I think at that moment, I knew that I was and still am, passionate about providing help to students and their families about knowing how to navigate the college admissions process.
I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to work in Admissions as a student because I was also able to become a Student Ambassador where I was able to provide tours to students and families which I truly enjoyed! These experiences taught me that I belong in Higher Education, specifically helping students and their families.
The best advice I can give is that it's important to go on a campus tour if you are able! Going to campus and trying to envision yourself there, such as going to that library or sitting on that bench is I think an important thing to doo throughout your college decision process!
As for applying to college, I would say that it's important to spend time writing your essay. Having several people looking over it before you submit your application can be super helpful.
