Biomedical Engineering, Class of 2025
From Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
My experience at OU has been a journey of growth in every area of my life. I've been constantly supported by the OU Family, and that encouragement has helped bring me closer to achieving my life goals.
Several reasons! The campus's proximity to home, the scholarships I received, the strength of my chosen major in bioengineering, and the fact that I had family already attending the University of Oklahoma. Despite all of that, though, the main reason I chose OU was the culture. Everyone I met during campus tours or when I visited family on campus was incredibly kind and intentional. They saw me as a person, showed genuine interest in my goals, and wanted what was best for me.
Organizing a student-led fashion show on campus. It was the first student event I planned entirely on my own, using the connections and resources I built throughout my time here. It allowed me to apply my leadership skills and create a platform for others where they could express their creativity through fashion.
It represents an opportunity to achieve my lifelong goal of creating medical devices that provide affordable healthcare.
I am attending Rice University to pursue a Master's in Global Medical Innovation, where I'll continue developing my skills in medical device design and innovation.
