“Little did I know that choosing OU was the best decision I have made. I loved every second at OU — everything from meeting my husband to cheering at OU football games. Being a student at OU was the best time of my life.”

I remember the process of deciding which college I would attend. Growing up in Tulsa (graduated from Booker T. Washington High School), I never saw myself going to a school in Oklahoma because it felt too close to home. I was afraid I wouldn’t get the “real college experience.” Even more, I wasn’t sure how a state school would benefit me in the long term. Was it prestigious enough to get the best jobs? What if I want to move out of Oklahoma after graduation? At the time, I had no idea the answers to those questions, but I learned later it was natural to wonder such things. Ultimately, I jumped. I went for it and chose the University of Oklahoma! Little did I know that choosing OU was the best decision I have made. I loved every second of OU — everything from meeting my husband to cheering at OU football games. Being a student at OU was the best time of my life.

After graduating from OU, I was offered a job on Wall Street for one of the most competitive rotational analyst programs in the country. I accepted the job and moved to New York City. I remember sitting in my orientation. There were four kids from Harvard and three from Yale ... and me. I just laughed to myself with the thought that I likely saved $200,000 compared to my new colleagues by going to the University of Oklahoma and ended up in the exact same place!

I loved OU so much that I came back to attend the OU College of Law. After graduating law school, I joined the Norton Rose Fulbright in Houston, Texas, the fifth largest law firm in the world. Remember how I mentioned that I was worried about getting a job out of state? Not only did I work in New York and Texas, I also spent time working in Washington, D.C.

I got a lot of cool experiences as a student at OU but none greater than securing my dream job of becoming a NFL Sports Agent. On top of working as an attorney, I also work for a renowned sports agency, Young Money APAA Sports, owned by rapper Lil Wayne. I get the opportunity to represent several players in the National Football League (NFL). I am your real-life Jerry McGuire (but the female version)! As part of my job, I get to be part of college recruiting, the NFL Combine, Senior Bowl, the Super Bowl, and several other perks. I am really living the dream and it was all made possible and all began by me choosing OU! I hope you do too.

BOOMER SOONER!
