Derek Bixler

Derek Bixler's Bio

Derek Bixler is a political science doctoral student and graduate fellow at the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center at the University of Oklahoma. He holds an M.P.S. from the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service and B.A. from the University of Oklahoma.

Derek's research interests include: influences on congressional behavior, federal policymaking, the U.S. welfare state, party primaries, and American political development. Derek has presented research at the Midwest Political Science Association Annual Conference. 

Prior to becoming a Carl Albert Center graduate fellow, Derek worked as a staff member for the University of Kansas College Office of Graduate Affairs (in the KU School of Public Affairs & Administration).
