Nathaniel Reeves, III

Nathaniel Reeves is a political science doctoral student and Carl Albert Fellow at the Carl Albert Congressional Research and Studies Center at the University of Oklahoma.

Nathaniel’s research agenda focuses on congressional behavior, elite political communication, and intraparty dynamics in American politics. His current research examines how members of Congress engage in presidential primary elections, particularly through endorsements, and how those decisions shape their subsequent electoral and political outcomes. He is currently working on a collaborative project examining the electoral consequences of congressional endorsements in presidential primaries.

Building on this work, his future research will use archival political communication data from the Carl Albert Center to study how elite messaging strategies evolve over time and influence congressional communication. He also continues to develop projects on primary elections and institutional change.

Nathaniel earned his B.A. in Political Science from Cameron University in 2021 and his M.A. in Political Science from Arkansas State University in 2024.
