We invite you to join us for a luncheon and discussion with Mikhail Tsypkin on his father Leonid Tsypkin’s novella The Bridge Over the Neroch, which tells the history of four generations of a Russian-Jewish family as seen through the lens of a doctor living in Moscow. Registration is required for the luncheon. A limited number of book copies are available at registration. Lunch to be provided by La Baguette.

"New Methods and Ethical Considerations for Understanding the Holocaust Eighty Years Later"

Join us as a geographer and archeologist discuss their investigations at/of Holocaust sites and the considerable amount of evidence they have found in their research that sheds new light on this genocide. Landscapes of the Holocaust are often perceived as spaces of erasure because of the extensive efforts made by the Nazis to hide their crimes and the passage of time. However, one of the overlooked aspects of this genocide is how it physically changed places, sometimes forever. Our speakers will introduce their methodologies and explain how a closer look at Holocaust sites can tell us the stories of the people who lived and died there, but who, often, cannot speak for themselves.
