Lecturer/Instructor of German:

The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Renewable Term position in German for the 2026-27 academic year, with a possibility of reappointment contingent upon excellent performance and adequate enrollments. Start date is August 16, 2026. The teaching load is 22-26 credit hours per academic year, typically 3-4 courses per semester, primarily from Beginning to Intermediate German but with some opportunities for upper-division teaching. The faculty member will be expected to contribute to the activities and programming in the German section. Candidates must hold at least an M.A. in German language, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field at the time of appointment. Applicants must have native or near-native proficiency in German and a good command of English.

Review of applications will begin on 9 January 2026 and continue until filled.
