Professor Riggs Named New Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence

The department is pleased to congratulate Professor Wayne Riggs on his appointment as the new Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence (effective June 14).

Professor Riggs currently serves as the Senior Faculty Fellow for Career Progression in the Center for Faculty Excellence. He chaired the Shyam Dev Patwardhan Department of Philosophy from 2012 to 2022 and has been in the department since 1995. He also served for six years on the OU Faculty Senate Executive Committee. In 2019, he received the Regents’ Award for Superior Professional and University Service and Public Outreach.
