TUDENTS
The Department of Political Science is the academic home to almost 700 undergraduate and graduate students on the Norman campus. The undergraduate program ranks in the top five in enrollment in the College of Arts and Sciences, and the graduate program is the second largest in the college. The department is known for its outstanding students, including many national scholars. Our students are actively engaged in university life, and many are campus leaders involved in Student Congress and other student organizations. Undergraduates go on to excellent law schools and graduate programs; work in Washington, DC; state legislatures and agencies; local non-profits; federal law enforcement; and the diplomatic corps. Graduate students have been recognized for both scholarship and teaching.

FACULTY
The department's faculty have been recognized not only for publications and grants, but also for their outstanding teaching. Faculty have been chosen for Fulbright grants from Macedonia to Peru; been named as Regents' and Presidential Professors; and have been awarded many awards for teaching and research, including the Merrick Foundation Teaching Award; the UOSA Outstanding Professor in Arts and Sciences and Outstanding Professor University-Wide; General Education Teaching Award; and the Irene Rothbaum Outstanding Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences.
