Jones Accepts Tenure Track Position

Melissa Jones accepts a tenure-track assistant professor position at Brigham Young University


Congratulations to Melissa Jones who has accepted a tenure-track position as assistant professor at Brigham Young University.  She will be starting in the fall of 2018 in the Department of Sociology where she will continue to research and teach in the areas of gender, crime, and deviance, the incarceration of women, and the impact of both trauma and abuse on criminal behaviors. Jones successfully defended her dissertation entitled, “Violence in the Lives of Women Prisoners: A Mixed Methods Approach” in April 2018.  Her committee included B. Mitchell Peck (Co-Chair), Susan F. Sharp (Co-Chair), Meredith G. F. Worthen, Stephanie Burge, and David A. McLeod. Melissa looks forward to majestic winters and the breathtaking mountain scenery of Provo, Utah.
