Biography

Camilia moved to Norman in 2020 to attend the OU MSW program. She has 14 years of education, mentoring, and youth development experience and several years working in non-profit programming, operations, and community outreach. She has focused on student retention, family and community engagement, digital literacy, and early childhood development in predominantly underserved communities.

She received her B.A. in philosophy and Asian Studies from Saint Lawrence University and currently resides in Norman. 

Camilia completed her field placement at OU Health Sciences Center where she worked on operations development with partners and providers for Afghani refugees resettled in Oklahoma. She aso worked in data collection, reporting, and evaluation of OUHSC admissions and enrollment. She is excited to return to Norman campus and join the sociology department to serve as the research coordinator for the Oklahoma Parent-Child Assistance Project (OK-PCAP).
