Antonio R. Segales was born in Asunción, Paraguay. He received a B.S. degree in mechatronics engineering from the National University of Asunción, San Lorenzo, Paraguay, in 2016, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK, USA, in 2019 and 2022, respectively. Since 2021, he has been a Research Scientist with the Cooperative Institute for Severe and High-Impact Weather Operations and Research (CIWRO), at the University of Oklahoma. He works on developing custom uncrewed aerial systems (UASs) and sensor integration specifically designed for weather research. He also works on the calibration and validation of phased array radar (PAR) systems using UAS. His research interests include the control theory of dynamical systems, UAS design and integration, embedded systems programming, CAD modeling, and dynamics of the planetary boundary layer. Dr. Segales is a member of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the American Meteorological Society (AMS), emphasizing his research efforts for the implementation of UAS for a variety of weather applications.
