Aerospace and mechanical engineers design and build the tools, machines, and aeronautical technology that propel us forward, moving us into the future.
They are essential to manufacturing, oil and gas, aerospace, defense, civil infrastructure, health care, and consumer products industries. Led by our award-winning faculty with a philosophy of experiential learning, students gain a broad range of knowledge making them strong competitors in today’s job market and preparing students at all levels to solve engineering problems that are seen on a daily basis. Through project-based education, working in teams of fellow students, and the 31 full-time faculty of the school, students gain a unique educational experience.
In the Mobility Intelligence Lab at OU, Bin Xu and other researchers are developing a prototype autonomous driving system that can retrofit any consumer vehicle with about $1,000 worth of hardware.
