JRCoE Students Win National Awards

Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education students Megan Curry and Hunter Matusevic were recently honored by the Division on Career and Development Transition at its international conference in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
 

Curry was named the DCDT Iva Dean Cook Teacher of the Year. This award is to honor practitioners who are dedicated to ensuring outstanding education and transition for students with disabilities. Curry, who earned her bachelor of science and master’s of education degrees from the college and is currently working on her Administrative Certificate through EACS, is the current Project Search teacher with Norman Public Schools.
 

Matusevic, currently a student in the Transition and ABA master’s degree program, was honored as DCDT Andrew Halpern Early Career Practitioner Award winner. This award is given to someone in their first five years who demonstrates outstanding innovation to transition services for students with disabilities.
 

Matusevic is currently employed as a PRE-ETS instruction counselor through Vocational Rehabilitation and works within different schools in Delaware.
