Professor Lawrence Baines (English Education-ILAC) was presented the Oklahoma Council of Teachers of English leadership award in April.
The award will now be known as the Lawrence Baines Leadership in English Education Award. Professor Baines will be tasked with nominating next year’s award winner.
The Oklahoma Council of Teachers of English is an affiliate of the National Council of Teachers of English. They promote improvement in the teaching of all phases of the English language arts, including reading, writing, thinking and speaking at all levels of education. The goal is to help English teachers by providing the best professional development at the lowest possible cost.
