Current Campus Projects

This summer, Facilities Management will be making improvements to several areas of campus as part of the University’s deferred maintenance and capital renewal program. Dates are subject to change. SIDEWALKS, STREETS AND PARKING LOT REPAIRS

  • Sidewalk improvements on the northeast side of Evans Hall and the west side of the Carnegie Building will begin May 18 and will last approximately two weeks. During this time the sidewalk and surrounding area will be inaccessible. Some parking on the southern portion of the North Oval will also be inaccessible.
  • Sidewalk improvements at Nielsen Hall will begin in early June with work including widening the sidewalk to the east entrance and redesigning the Brooks Mall & Michael F. Price Walkway intersection on the northeast corner of Nielsen Hall. Work should last approximately two weeks. Access to Nielsen Hall through the east entrance may be impacted during work.
  • Sidewalk improvements to the Copeland Hall east entry sidewalk will begin in June and last approximately two weeks. During this time, access to the sidewalk and surrounding area may be impacted.
  • Drainage improvements and sidewalk construction in the Cross Village courtyard will begin May 18 and last approximately 8 weeks. During this time, certain areas of the courtyard may be inaccessible.
  • Sidewalk improvements on the northwest corner of Dunham College will begin in June and last approximately two weeks. During this time, access to sidewalks in the area may be impacted.
  • Stormwater and sidewalk improvements near Wagner Hall will begin on May 18 and last approximately 6-8 weeks. The north-south sidewalk on the east side of Michael F. Price Hall will be closed beginning May 18 for approximately two weeks for reconstruction. Stormwater work within the Wagner Lawn will follow sidewalk work. During this time, some sidewalks and areas of Wagner Lawn will be inaccessible.

Building Improvements

  • Carpenter Hall renovation will begin June 1 and last through summer 2027. During this time some sidewalks and areas surrounding the building will be inaccessible. Parking along the west curb of Asp Avenue between Boyd Street and Felgar Street will also be unavailable during the project.

Other Improvements

  • The installation of bollards at Elm Avenue and the Brooks Mall entrance will begin May 18 and be completed before the start of the fall semester. During this time, vehicles will not be able to access the Brooks Mall from Elm Avenue.
  • Parking and Transportation Services will install new gates for faculty/staff parking lots beginning May 20. The project will last approximately two weeks. Gates will be installed one parking lot at a time. During installation, parking lots may be inaccessible.
  • The installation of bollards at Asp Avenue just north of the bus turnaround on the west side of the Armory will begin in June and last approximately one week. During this time, vehicles will not be able to access the Brooks Mall from Asp Avenue.
  • Drainage, utility, and turf improvements of the northern area of the South Oval will begin in June and will last approximately 6-8 weeks. During this time, areas around the South Oval may be impacted.
