Jennifer Shannon is Coordinator of Facilities, Technology, and Operations for the University of Oklahoma School of Music. She works across the School to support the spaces, technology, equipment, and operational needs that make teaching, learning, and performances possible.

Before returning to Oklahoma in 2025, Jennifer performed with the Symphony of Southeast Texas and was a music instructor at Lamar University in Beaumont and Lee College in Baytown, Texas, where she taught music appreciation, music theory, and applied flute. She also completed 24 credit hours toward the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at Lamar University, with coursework in higher education leadership, strategic planning, organizational change, program evaluation, and data-informed decision making.

Concurrently, Jennifer is a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) candidate in flute at OU, where she studies with Dr. Valerie Watts. She holds a Master of Music in Flute Performance from OU and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from the University of Houston. An active performer and educator, she was the 2026 winner of the National Flute Association Professional Flute Choir Competition on alto flute and has performed and presented clinics and masterclasses throughout the United States. Her experience as a musician, educator, and higher education professional gives her a unique perspective on supporting the people and programs of the School of Music.
