Undergraduate Auditions & Admissions
Applying to the OU School of Music is a 2-step process. To apply for any undergraduate music degree program, students must first apply to OU online. Once accepted, students must apply to the School of Music. Auditions are required for application to the School of Music.
The University Academic Scholarship deadline is December 15, 2019.
Students auditioning before March 1, 2020, will receive priority for music scholarships.

Music Audition Day
The Music Audition Day experience is an exciting, information-packed day on campus designed to provide all prospective music majors with the opportunity to:
- Visit campus and learn about the collegiate experience at OU.
- Audition for:
- Admission to the School of Music
- Scholarship consideration from all School of Music scholarship sources.
Undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to audition on one of the audition dates listed below. If a student is unable to make any of the audition dates, it may be possible to make other arrangements with the appropriate professor.
The piano area has additional dates available only for piano auditions - see the bottom of this page for more information.
Applications to the School of Music are due 2 weeks prior your audition date. Audition times will be scheduled approximately one week prior to your selected audition date.

Important Transfer Student Information
If you are currently on a music scholarship at your institution, before any offer of admission to a music degree and/or a music scholarship can be presented by the OU School of Music, the dean or director of your current school must send a scholarship release letter to Beth Wilson at the School of Music. Scholarship, Cost, & Financial Aid
Undergraduate scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis at the entrance audition. Scholarship auditions for the following academic year should be completed by February 15, preferably on an "audition day". Assistance for those auditioning after Februrary 15 will be awarded on a "funds available" basis only. To ensure the best chance for full scholarship consideration audition on or before this date.
Note: Many School of Music students also qualify for academic scholarships, general scholarships, and need based aid. Be sure you get all of the assistance for which you qualify, by visiting the Financial Aid website.

Undergraduate piano students are encouraged to audition on the main school-wide audition dates listed above. If piano students are unable to make those dates, they may also audition on the alternate dates listed below by emailing Dr. Igor Lipinski or Dr. Jeongwon Ham at least 3-4 weeks prior to the desired audition date.
Students are encouraged to audition in person. However, taped auditions from out-of-state students will be accepted until May 1.
