Facilities

OU piano majors have access to excellent facilities on the OU campus for practicing, performance, coursework, teaching, and research. These include:

  • Two concert halls in Catlett Music Center with three Steinway D concert grands and a Steinway B Spirio grand
  • Dedicated piano-major, grand-piano practice rooms in the Crawford Practice Building in the Reynolds Performing Arts Center 
  • Faculty studios for piano lessons, each with two Steinway and/or Bösendorfer grand pianos
  • Teaching studios for graduate assistants, each with two Steinway grand pianos 
  • Two group piano labs in Catlett Music Center, featuring state-of-the-art Yamaha keyboards and lab system, interactive classroom technology, and a Steinway grand piano
  • A curated research collection of piano teaching and reference materials in the Ruby Grant Pedagogy Resource Center, which contains more than 5,000 publications
  • Research resources, technology, and study spaces in the Fine Arts Library of Catlett Music Center
