Strings

OU School of Music has an outstanding string program. Graduates appear on concert stages throughout the world and teach on the faculties of major colleges, universities, conservatories and public schools throughout the nation and abroad.

The mission of the University of Oklahoma String Area is to help students achieve the highest artistic and intellectual standards of which they are capable. The School of Music offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, and guitar. Auditions are required for both graduate and undergraduate studies. Merit scholarships are available on a competitive basis for entering undergraduate students. Graduate students are eligible for graduate assistantship on a competitive basis. All string majors receive weekly private instruction from OU's distinguished string faculty.
