Dear Gibbs College community,
Thirty years ago in Oklahoma City, on April 19, 1995, an act of terrorism took lives and irreparably changed many others. People responded in its aftermath with resilience, compassion, and a commitment to supporting one another. From this response came the Oklahoma Standard—a tradition of service, respect, and everyday kindness.
At the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture, we strive to carry that tradition forward in our own way. Here, we are more than students and professionals—we are a community dedicated to shaping stronger, more connected places to live, work, and gather.
We might call this the Gibbs Standard:
Every member of the Gibbs College community—students, faculty, staff, and alumni—plays a role in upholding this standard. Together, we honor the past, support each other today, and help build a better tomorrow.
Wherever your journey leads, I encourage you to carry the Gibbs Standard with you. Let’s be known for the way we plan, design, and construct stronger communities—one thoughtful action and one supportive relationship at a time.
