The Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture is proud to announce the Division of Architecture student winners of the 2025 Shaw Prize, TAP Prize, and MA+ scholarship.
A group of 21 undergraduate Architecture students from the Gibbs College of Architecture recently embarked on a weeklong field trip to New York City. Accompanied by Professors Amber Brown, Paolo Sanza, and Francesco Cianfarani, the students immersed themselves in the vibrant architectural culture of Manhattan and Brooklyn, visiting landmark sites and award-winning design firms.

Now, their work comes to life in Do Not Try to Remember: The American School of Architecture in the Bay Area, an archival exhibition opening February 20, 2025, at San Francisco’s Center for Architecture + Design.

The Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma is pleased to announce the exhibition “Outré West: The American School of Architecture from Oklahoma to California,” meticulously curated by Gibbs faculty members Dr. Angela Person, Dr. Stephanie Pilat, and Marco Piscitelli. The exhibition also features significant contributions from faculty and students across the college and beyond.
Seven faculty members from the divisions of Regional and City Planning, Architecture and Interior Design were recently awarded funding through Gibbs College’s Program for Research Enhancement. These grants of up to $6,500 are available to full-time faculty members of Gibbs College to support their research and creative activities.
A group of 30 undergraduate and graduate Architecture students recently traveled to Arkansas for a two-day field trip. Accompanied by Professors Amy Leveno, Amber Sarmiento and Alan Moring, the students toured an award-winning Architecture studio and visited various architectural sites in Bentonville and Fayetteville.
OU’s Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture is pleased to announce the appointment of three new faculty members in its Divisions of Architecture and Interior Design in the Fall 2023 term. Gibbs College is grateful to the many search committee members and others around campus who made this process a success.
Jeffrey Mansfield, principal at the Model of Architecture Serving Society (MASS) Design Group and director of MASS’s Deaf Space and Disability Justice Design Lab, assisted OU Architecture faculty in leading a five-day design charrette. Mansfield encouraged students to explore DeafSpace design principles in their projects.
Thirty-eight architecture undergraduate and graduate students recently took a two-day field trip to Bentonville, Arkansas and Wichita, Kansas. The students visited multiple architecture offices and firms as well as toured the Crystal Bridges Museum and Exploration Place.
