The Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art Association is hosting a day bus trip to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on November 15, 2019! Trip attendees will visit the Price Tower, Copper Restaurant + Bar, and Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve. The deadline for reservations is October 1, 2019.
The group will depart at 7:00 a.m. from the Lloyd Noble Center. In Bartlesville, we will tour the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Price Tower. Made of copper and concrete, the 19-story landmark was completed in 1956 and was listed as one of Wright’s most significant works by the American Institute of Architects. The group will enjoy a private lunch at the Copper Restaurant + Bar, located on the 15th floor of the building, prepared by the 2019 Wright Chef Albert “Nook” Ducre. Selected annually, the Wright Chef is a unique position developed by Price Tower Arts Center as part of its dynamic artist in residence programs.
After lunch, the group will explore the Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve. Woolaroc was formerly the ranch retreat of oilman Frank Phillips. It is now a 3,700-acre wildlife preserve and world-class art museum with collections that include Western and Native American paintings, sculptures, and artifacts.
All costs for the trip are inclusive, and transportation to and from our destination will be provided. The fee is $125 for FJJMA Association members and $160 for non-members. The bus will tentatively return to the Lloyd Noble Center by 7:00 p.m. that evening.
