The Urban Design Studio is proud to announce its first Urban Design Fellows. Made possible by the Christopher C. Gibbs Endowment for faculty support and development, each fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend to pursue their research.
Shideh Shadravan will be developing a proposal for an urban transformation of the historic Sand Springs Power Plant.
Dave Boeck will be conducting research related to Aging-in-Place and Accessible Housing with the Community Health and Environmental Design initiative at OU-Tulsa, working in conjunction with faculty from Social Work and Occupational Therapy.
The fellows also serve as mentors to students pursuing the Master of Urban Design degree at OU-Tulsa. The Urban Design Studio would also like to take this opportunity thank all the faculty that submitted proposals.
The proposals were of exceptional quality, which made it a difficult choice for the two outsider reviewers from the OU-Tulsa Library. The reviewers rated the proposals based on intellectual merit, meaningful collaboration with the Urban Design Studio, diverse viewpoints, and overall qualifications of the applicants.
