Students from the University of Oklahoma Urban Design Studio in Tulsa recently conducted a design workshop to create ideas for a courtyard in the historic Greenwood Center.

They were invited by Architect David Contreras from Pistil Consortia to brainstorm with him to devise ways to improve and activate the seldom-used urban space. Students proposed not one, but two performance stages, a cable-suspended shade structure, new connections between interior spaces, new lighting, and much more!

The students will present their ideas to the Greenwood Chamber of Commerce Board and other community members on October 16, 2020.

The Urban Design Studio is led by Shawn Schaefer.
