OU Construction Science Offers Undergraduate Certificate in “Entrepreneurship and Real Estate Development”

The University of Oklahoma Haskell and Irene Lemon Division of Construction Science is pleased to offer an undergraduate certificate in “Entrepreneurship and Real Estate Development.”

The 15 credit hour program is comprised of two required courses:

  • CNS 2133, Introduction to Housing in America
  • ARCH 4743, Legal Framework for Urban Development

As well as any three electives from the following course list:

  • END 3893, Introduction to Urban Development
  • ARCH 4663, Urban Design
  • ARCH 4713, Real Estate I
  • ARCH 4813, Real Estate II
  • ARCH 4970, Housing Typologies and Trends
  • CNS 4503, Residential Construction
  • ID 4823, Design for Independent Living

The certificate program was developed by Dr. Somik Ghosh, Dr. Suchi Bhattacharjee, and Dr. Ben Bigelow, with support from the National Housing Endowment of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Gibbs College Alumnus Elevated to AIA College of Fellows

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has elevated Gary Armbruster, FAIA, ALEP to its prestigious College of Fellows—AIA’s highest membership honor—for his exceptional work and sustained contributions to architecture and society. Fellowship recognizes architects who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession and made a significant impact at a national level. Members elevated to this distinction carry the FAIA designation after their name.

Spring 2026 Design Studio Exhibits Work at OU School of Visual Arts

Students from the Spring 2026 Graduate 4 Architecture Design Studio, led by Professor Amy Leveno, exhibited their work at the School of Visual Arts. The exhibition, titled Reimagining the OU School of Visual Arts, featured drawings, models, and animations developed throughout the semester's studio project. The show was hosted in The Spotlight, a creative gallery space located on the first floor of the Fred Jones Art Center, and ran from January 20–30, 2026.
