Regional + City Planning PhD student Pamela Skraastad-Jurney, GISP recently passed the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) exam. The AICP provides the only nationwide, independent verification of planners’ qualifications. This certification demonstrates expertise in the planning field and a commitment to professional ethics.
Pamela is also the project manager of Cross Timbers Consulting, which specializes in providing technical assistance to Native American Tribes and their transportation programs. She facilitates the NEPA documentation and consultations required for federally funded projects. She has developed dozens of tribal transportation safety plans to give Tribes a competitive edge for transportation safety funds. Since 2009, she has served as the Outreach Coordinator for the Oklahoma chapter of South Central Arc Users Group where she promotes GIS resources for the state and surrounding areas.

Gibbs College of Architecture Professors Amber Brown and Amy Leveno led 29 students to Dallas, Texas, in September for a learning experience as part of their Design 7 Studio course.
Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture professor and Institute for Quality Communities Director Dr. Amber N. Wiley’s book, Model Schools in the Model City: Race, Planning, and Education in the Nation’s Capital, has received two major honors from the Urban History Association.
