Dr. Bryce Lowery, Associate Professor of Regional and City Planning, was elected to the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) Governing Board. The ACSP is an organization that connects educators, researchers, and students to expand knowledge about planning education and research.
For the next two years, Dr. Lowery will serve as the inaugural representative for small programs of fewer than 5 full-time faculty members. He will serve alongside a cohort of new categorical representatives for individual members, minority serving institutions, and large programs with more than five faculty members.
The new categorical representatives serve alongside six regional representatives following a reorganization of the board to better reflect the diversity of planning programs. Learn more about the ACSP and the Governing Board.
Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture professor and Institute for Quality Communities Director Dr. Amber N. Wiley’s book, Model Schools in the Model City: Race, Planning, and Education in the Nation’s Capital, has received two major honors from the Urban History Association.
Research initiated by Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture alumna Naila Hasan during her master’s studies at the University of Oklahoma has continued through faculty collaboration and resulted in a peer-reviewed publication in HERD: Health Environments Research & Design Journal.
