Gibbs College to Host David Logan for Public Lecture

OU Gibbs College is pleased to announce that David Logan is invited to give a public lecture in the upcoming school year. Logan is currently the Director of Tax & Trade Policy Analysis for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). 

For his lecture, Logan will focus on housing economics on both a regional and national scale, as well as tax and material implications. This lecture will give students an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the economic drivers that impact the construction industry and their future success. The lecture will take place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 12 p.m., location TBD. 

Logan holds a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University, a Master of Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louis, and a master’s from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Prior to joining NAHB, he was a senior researcher at the Brookings Institution. He also held staff positions on Capitol Hill, including chief economist for the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee and senior economist for the Joint Economic Committee

Remembering Robert L. Wesley

Robert L. Wesley, a pioneering architect and beloved mentor, has died at age 88. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Wesley joined Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) in 1964 and became the firm's first Black partner in 1984. Throughout his career, he contributed to significant architectural projects while maintaining a strong commitment to civic engagement and professional mentorship.

University of Oklahoma Gibbs College of Architecture Dean Hans E. [PA1.1]Butzer returned to one of his most significant works on December 15, joining survivors and past and present board members for the groundbreaking of a $15.8 million expansion of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
