Dr. Tammy McCuen, Robert E. Busch Professor of Construction Science in the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma, is part of a team recognized with the campus-wide Award for Excellence in Transdisciplinary, Convergent Research

McCuen’s recognition is tied to her work with the Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC), a U.S. Department of Transportation Region 6 University Transportation Center. Her contributions support a large, multidisciplinary research effort focused on strengthening transportation systems in the face of extreme weather conditions.

The team is led by Dr. Musharraf Zaman, Lead Principal Investigator from the School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science in the Gallogly College of Engineering. Faculty collaborators represent a wide range of disciplines across the university, including civil and environmental engineering, construction science, educational psychology, geography and environmental sustainability, electrical and computer engineering, and petroleum and geological engineering.

The Award for Excellence in Transdisciplinary, Convergent Research, which is administered by the University of Oklahoma’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships, highlights projects that bridge disciplines and generate measurable impact through coordinated research efforts.

Congratulations to Professor McCuen and the whole SPTC team on this recognition of their leadership and contributions to collaborative research!
