Architecture student Trey London recently participated in the 2024 Winter Shadowship program with the award-winning global design firm Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM). This program offers an immersive professional experience to students planning a career in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industry.

Gibbs Ph.D. Student Completes Summer Internship at DLZ Corporation

This summer, third-year Ph.D. student Felipe Flores served as an architectural associate at DLZ Corporation. DLZ is one of the leading consulting firms within the realms of architecture, engineering and surveying. It currently occupies the 139th spot on Engineering-News Record’s esteemed list of the Top 500 Design Firms in the United States. Additionally, it stands as the 11th largest firm in the Midwest, boasting a workforce of over 800 individuals spread across 29 offices.

Internship Workshop Series for Students

The Division of Architecture will be hosting a series of Internship Workshops over Zoom throughout the fall semester! The workshops will prepare students for the Architectural Experience Program (AXP), which includes internships and a co-op program. Work experience through AXP is required for students to become licensed architects.

OU Architecture Students Team with Local Design Studio to Support City of Edmond

Since February, höffnerdesignstudio has been host to OU Gibbs College of Architecture students Reilly Tuer and Kyler Smith. Tuer and Smith are fulfilling their internship semester by doing a project with the City of Edmond that carries forward an Institute for Quality Communities (IQC) initial report. Thanks to funding from IQC, the students are able to have paid internships while working in a professional setting, on a project with real stakes, and for a real client.
