Dr. Kalenda Eaton is Associate Dean and Jean Marie Warren Chair in the Honors College. She has over twenty years of experience in academic leadership, interdisciplinary research, and student-centered program development. In the College she supervises many areas including but not limited to: academics and curriculum; faculty affairs; advising; undergraduate research; and several student-focused co-curricular programs.
Beyond OU, Eaton serves on advisory boards for state and national organizations and has been a member of regional accreditation review teams, contributing to best practices in areas such as student learning outcomes and program assessment.
Dr. Eaton is an active professor and internationally recognized humanities scholar whose research focuses on studies of Oklahoma and the American west; intersections of Black literary studies and cultural history; and women’s studies. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University, and a B.A. with honors from Dillard University.
