Temporary Assistance to Needy Families Impact Program

Call for Proposals 2024-2025 Academic Year

The OU Center for Public Management (OU CPM) in the College of Continuing Education/Outreach is seeking project proposals that fit within one of the following areas related to Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF):

  • Support evaluation efforts for overall TANF caseload effectiveness and eligibility effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement based on TANF’s four statutory goals and focus on removing barriers to TANF participation.
  • Evaluate other barriers to employment and independence and strategies for reducing poverty as part of the TANF Investment Strategy.
  • Enhance state data enabling data analytics to better understand the impact that TANF has on families and for overall TANF program improvement.

OU CPM will evaluate other proposals related to TANF.

Funding

OU CPM will award funding typically ranging between $10,000 and $30,000 per project to support selected projects. A proposed detailed budget should be submitted with the project proposal that defines how the funding is intended to be used to meet the proposed project goals. The funding ends May 30, 2025.

GRA Support

OU CPM has potential funding for up to four GRA positions for the 2024-2025 academic year in addition to the project funding. OU CPM will provide a supervisor/mentor to guide the work as needed. These positions are available beginning August 15th.

Format

Please submit up to five double spaced pages detailing the proposal. The detailed budget and budget narrative do not count against the five pages. The proposal should include an executive summary, proposed timeline, proposed project goals and a more detailed overview of the project.
