Overview
The Institute for Community and Society Transformation's (ICAST) Faculty Fellows program focuses on building interdisciplinary research and scholarship capacity to support ICAST's mission. For the upcoming fiscal year, ICAST will provide suport for two faculty fellows.
The Fellow program is a vital part of forging new pathways toward positive societal change in local, regional, and global communities. It suports faculty research across a wide range of areas including education, technology development,k social justice, health, and the workplace, in partnership with Native Nations and other community partners. ICAST aims to:
- understand drivers of education and health disparities and identify new paths for supporting education and public health in a wide variety of communities.
- identify threats and opportunities of technology advancements within and outside of workplaces as they relate to human health, skills and capacity building, AI use and integration into work processes, well-being, social connection, and other important outcomes to infom technology design, development, and policy.
- collaborate with Native Nations on research, scholarship or creative activities towards mutually beneficial goals or outcomes in ways that support their sovereignty and cultures.
Benefits
- Receive a 10K stipend to support research, scholarship, and creative activities (5K can be used towards a course release if desired, with support from home department to cover the remainder of the course release)

Expectations
Collaborate with ICAST directors and administrative staff to:
- enroll in relevant research-oriented workshops sponsored by the Center for Faculty Excellence.
- develop and submit at least one large interdisciplinary grant proposal (>400K, multi-year; can also be multi-institutional).
- participate in ICAST networking and speaker series events to disseminate research/scholarship/creative activities.
ICAST Faculty Fellow Application Process
Provide a one-page statement of research interests as they pertain to ICAST's mission along with a current CV. Additionally, please indicate any specific funding opportunities you have interest in pursuing. Once the ICAST leadership team has reviewed all applications, potential Faculty Fellows will be asked to participate in an interview to discuss interests and mutual benefits.
