To combat this growth, OU IT has implemented a more accurate, advanced, and agile spam-filtration system with five levels of protection:

ADDITIONAL SPAM PROTECTION - SPAM RULES
Exchange also allows you to set personal rules for spam filtering. Rules allow you to filter mail with specific criteria into the folder of your choice. For instance, you could send every email with offensive language directly to the Deleted Items folder.
If you receive an e-mail message requesting that you reply with your username and password, do not respond. These types of messages, called "phishing," are designed by spammers to solicit your log in credentials.
OU IT will never ask for sensitive information via e-mail.
If you have responded to such a message, you should change your password at account.ou.edu and at any off-campus web site where you use the same password.

If you do not have access to one of the email clients shown above, you can set rules using Outlook on OU IT lab computers. Once you establish these rules, they will work for your mailbox, regardless of how or where you check your email.
