CONNECT WITH A MOBILE DEVICE

Microsoft Exchange offers two easy ways to access your email from a mobile device.

ActiveSync
ActiveSync enables constant mobile access to your email, calendar, contacts, and tasks and offers a streamlined email experience similar to a desktop client. Consult your user guide to see if your phone supports ActiveSync.

Setting up your iPhone with Exchange:

Synchronize your mailbox with ActiveSync:

  1. Open ActiveSync and click Configure Server or Set up ActiveSync (each phone has a unique ActiveSync interface).
  2. For server name, type exchange.ou.edu. If available, select: This server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection.
  3. Type your User name (4+4), Password, and Domain:
    • If there is a Domain field, enter sooner.
    • If there is no Domain field, you must enter the Domain name into your username field: sooner\4+4.
  4. Select the items to synchronize (email, calendar, contacts, and tasks) and click Finish.

Outlook Web Access
If your mobile device can access the internet:

  1. Open your device's web browser and enter http://exchange.ou.edu into the address bar.
  2. Log in with your 4+4 and password just as you would log in from the website from your desktop or laptop computer.
