Irani Center Corporate Engagement

SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL 

Industry partners can submit projects for consideration to David Ferris, the Executive Director of the Irani Center. Our multi-disciplinary leadership team reviews projects on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Any project that advances energy companies or energy resources will be considered, such as: 

• Evaluating oil and gas resource plays 
• Preparing type-curve and reserve reports 
• Evaluating undeveloped zones for drilling/recompletion opportunities 
• Assessing re-stimulation, artificial lift and compression configurations for optimizing production 
• Evaluating petrophysical and geological characteristics of resource plays 
• Other projects specific to your company’s needs 

COORDINATING WITH YOUR STUDENT TEAM 

Once an industry partner is accepted, they will work with their assigned student team as long as both parties deem the relationship beneficial. Industry partners will be expected to meet with their student team at least twice during the semester to discuss the project scope and expectations and provide timely feedback. 

RECEIVING YOUR REPORT AND PROVIDING FEEDBACK 

At the conclusion of the project, the student team will provide their final report and recommendations at the Ronnie K. Irani Center for Energy Solutions hub at OU’s Norman campus. Company representatives will be expected to give their impressions, guidance and practical industry-related feedback. Long-term projects with smaller goals split between cohorts of student teams are both possible and practical. 

KEEPING YOUR WORK SECURE

Non-disclosure agreements protect companies’ valuable and confidential information. Companies retain intellectual property developed by the Irani Center.
