Capabilities

The Integrated Core Characterization Center is well equipped for doing a vast array of measurements on both conventional and unconventional rocks. We can also configurate equipment to do special measurements needed for a particular research or service project. Following is the list of equipment/capabilities in IC3.

PetroPhysical Properties

  • Sample preparation including coring, polishing and cleaning
  • Dean- Stark analysis
  • Mineral and elemental analysis using FTIR, XRF, LIBS, and EDS
  • Geochemical analysis for TOC, S1, S2, Tmax and maturing indices using Hawk source rock analyzer, Leco TOC analyzer, thermo-gravimetric analyzer, and infrared spectroscopy
  • Routine Core Analysis (RCA):
    - Porosity
    - Permeability

    - Saturation
  • Special Core Analysis (SCAL)
    - Porosity and steady state permeability of tight rocks/shale
    - Capillary Pressure (MICP)
