NORMAN, Okla. – Thirty-eight students eligible to graduate from the University of Oklahoma in December maintained perfect 4.0 grade-point averages throughout their undergraduate careers at OU. Of the total, more than half are from Oklahoma.
To commemorate their achievement, the students were honored by OU Senior Vice President and Provost André-Denis Wright in a ceremony held Dec. 11 on the Norman campus. Each student who earned an overall 4.0 GPA received a bronze medallion on a crimson ribbon, which may be worn during graduation ceremonies.

Zhenghong Tang, Ph.D., has been named chair of the Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability in the University of Oklahoma’s College of Geographic and Atmospheric Sciences.
