NORMAN, OKLA – The Anne and Henry Zarrow School of Social Work at OU-Tulsa held its Second Annual Practicum and Job Fair on May 19. This event aimed to help address the ongoing need for more social workers in Tulsa and Oklahoma by connecting social work students and recent graduates with opportunities for practicum placements and employment.
"The fair is a valuable opportunity for our students and recent graduates to explore the diverse range of social work opportunities available in Tulsa, as well as to get important information to those considering a social work degree," said Austin McCoy, field education coordinator, OU-Tulsa campus. "It also allows agencies to connect with talented and passionate future social work professionals."
Representatives from more than 30 agencies were present to network with attendees and share about practicum and job openings. Groups included Grand Mental Health, Tulsa Boys Home, The Grief Center and the Tulsa Fire and Police Departments, among many others. Attendees were also able to explore various social work practice settings and showcase their skills and qualifications to potential future employers.
