The Oklahoma Student Volunteers are civic minded college students at the University of Oklahoma committed to better their community on campus, around the city of Norman, and the surrounding communities in the state of Oklahoma.

POSTED 11/7/05: General Meeting this Thursday, Nov. 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Henderson-Tolsen Cultural Center (HTCC). We will be having guest speakers from UOSA (University of Oklahoma Student Association) so please come if you can.

OUR PURPOSE:

The purpose of OSV is to:

Make students aware of people's needs.
Advocate and apply methods of humanitarian aid to improve people's welfare and happiness.
Develop fellowship as an opportunity to actualize individual's capabilities as means of service to people regardless of their race, creed, culture, or nationality.
Function as an organized body of students united in the cause of donating volunteer hours to the University of Oklahoma and to the Norman Community.

OUR ORGANIZATION:

The Oklahoma Student Volunteers (OSV) is a student run organization. Officers are elected like every student organization. Additionally, we have several committees for members seeking more involvement in the decision making of the group. Our meetings deal with informing our members about volunteering projects and activities that are going on at the University of Oklahoma, Norman, and the surrounding communities.

OUR OFFICERS:

The Officers of OSV are involved or have been involved with creating and participating in many community service events. Aside from being involved in OSV, our officers are also or have been involved on campus with such groups and organizations as Dad's Day, Homecoming, English Club, Sooner Information Network, Student Congress, Greek Corp, Gamma Beta Phi, The Volunteer Office, and Pre-Med Club among others.

Off campus, our Officer involvement includes Feed the Children, The Oklahoma Food Pantry, Tae Kwon Do, Soccer, Norman Regional Hospital, Easter Seals Nursing Home, Red Cross, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and Oklahoma Blood Institute among others.
